Oscar's 2013

As expected, last night’s Oscar’s showcased a whole load of fashion! I loved the majority of it, with the Jennifer’s of the night leading the way! However, there were a few mishaps of the night (Brandi Glanville, I am talking about you, here).
Jennifer Aniston looked stunning in a red Valentino gown meanwhile Jennifer Hudson looked beautiful in a Roberto Cavalli Couture design – I love the blue, which seemed to be one of the colour’s of the night.

Jessica Chastain also looked radiant in a nude Armani Prive dress. I love the classic look she went for with the 40’s waves and red lips – I think it would have been easy for this dress to be “overdone” but by keeping the look minimal, she’s aced this one.

I think my favourite of the night is Jennifer Lawrence who (of course) wore a Dior Haute Couture dress for the big night. Although it has been compared to looking a bit like a wedding dress, I can’t help but think, who wouldn’t jump at the chance to wear this?! It was princess material & I loved it.

There were a few people, however, who I have to question their choice in dresses. First of all, Kelly Rowland, while the dress was beautiful, I don’t think it was suited to the night. The thigh high split is something I don’t think was appropriate for the occasion, however if this was not there I would probably be saying quite the opposite.

The biggest FASH-HOE of the night has to go to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville. My god woman PUT IT AWAY! This is a classy event; it certainly isn’t any time to wear a dress where the bust is half missing! I’m actually quite surprised there were no reports of her falling out of this because in picture, it looked like it was going to happen any second!

I also have to mention the amazingly talented Adele, while she didn't exactly stun in the fashion stakes (playing it safe by rocking her usual black ensemble), she did win big. Adele won the award for Best Original Song for Skyfall (bringing her total number of awards so far to 106)! She's waving the flag big time for British talent.

Off to Milan we go...

Milan Fashion Week kicked off yesterday with a bang with fashion giant Gucci opening the show. The collection showcased a tough yet sexy range of clothing with a lot of cracked and patent leather featuring on the runway.
It was the evening-wear part of the show which really captured me though, the embellishment and feathers which featured on the dresses were remarkable.

The Alberta Ferretti show followed later on Monday, presenting a collection which was very feminine and sophisticated.

I love this coat with the flower detail down the centre and at the pockets, it looks really flattering as well, cinching in at the waist.

This dress also caught my eye with the high amount of detail on the upper part of the dress, then coming in at the waist with peplum detail, it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

With another 5 days left in Milan, I can't wait to see what the other designers have to offer for AW'13!
I'll definitely be checking in on a regular basis with this one. I'll also be posting each day about my favourite picks from various shows. Stay tuned!

Cara Delevingne!

I recently started following Cara Delevingne on Instagram and have wasted no time in obsessing over her – like the rest of the world! At first I had just seen her when she’s been casual & thought nothing of her but wow, when she gets in front of a camera she just comes alive! Also, having walked on the runways of Chanel, Burberry, Topshop Unique and many, many more, she’s one of the most in demand models right now! Can’t really blame them, she is stunning!

Here Cara is at last years V festival - so casual but looking so fashionable at the same time!
Cara at the New York Met Ball Costume Institute Gala in May 2012.

At the British Fashion Awards in November 2012 - where she won Model of the Year!

Finally, Cara walking in the Burberry runway for LFW last week.

Did I also mention she’s only a MONTH older than me?! It’s amazing what she’s accomplished already.

Feeling the love for Cara, big time!

Life Is But A Dream...

So, I finally got round to seeing both Beyoncé's co-directed short film 'Life Is But a Dream' and her interview with Oprah.

O.M.G. LOVE.

I don't even know where to start, it was so raw and beautiful. Her inner beauty just shone through from start to finish. From opening up about her love and admiration for her husband to how Blue Ivy has truly changed her life and allowed her to find herself, there isn't anything I can fault.

Beyoncé has opened herself up in a way that she never has done before & she has now just left me in awe of her. What an amazing, strong woman!

LFW - The Sequel.

Following on from my post yesterday about some of the designers who had showcased their designs in LFW, I thought it was only appropriate that I also post about some of the brands which were shown yesterday, for the final day of London Fashion Week!

Firstly, I'd like to start off with my favourite of the day:

Burberry

The brand’s trademark trench has been given yet another makeover as the designer somehow manages to re-invent the coat all over again! I love the leopard print that has been embodied in the items – looks like that’s one print that won’t go anywhere soon.

I love this burgundy dress shown above, the positioning of that V could potentially very flattering so I’m hoping a few copies of this crops up on the high street this A/W!

Matthew Williamson
This is one designer who completely shied away from the massive monochrome trend which has featured broadly across LFW. It was kind of refreshing to have that injection of colour which I’m sure will be much needed come those dreary A/W days..

The 2 looks above seem to be carrying on the jacquard designs but giving them a cool new look. I love the pale blue paired with silver, gold looks like it’ll be taking a back seat.

Mulberry
I also had the mention the Mulberry show, they showed a lot of tweed designs but it was these coats which really caught my eye.

The 2 with the fur collar’s look so fashionable yet SO comfy! While the floral arm design on Cara looks amazing.
From these, I’m guessing there will be a few short arm coats making an appearance on the high street next season! I better get stocking up on my long sleeve tops to put under them!

LFW

In all honesty, before this year, I can't ever remember taking such an interest in Fashion Week but this year I seem to be all over it! Maybe it has something to do with a certain Ms. Rihanna hitting up the event this year or it may be that my passion for fashion is budding...

Anyway, I wanted to share a few of my favourite looks from Rihanna for River Island and also a few other looks from other designers who have show cased their collections so far.

Rihanna for River Island

I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting slightly better from the collection. But I think every single piece just breathes Rihanna from it & I guess I have to credit her that. Although I don't think that alot of the piece's are very wearable to the everyday girl, the 2 dresses above are probably my favourites from the collection.

It's probably also worth mentioning what the designer herself was wearing - keeping it simple with a classic LBD and gold jewellry, you can't fault the look.

Sass & Bide

I love the monochrome theme's which dominated the Sass & Bide runway, and the pops of yellow everywhere really made each piece pop!
The chunky knit, white leather skirt and structured leather belt is probably my favourite piece from the above - it looks so wearable yet high fashion at the same time. LOVE.

David Koma

I love the structured pieces' that featured on the David Koma show. The shapes put a different twist on things which is probably which attracted me to these pieces.

The leather collar in the middle is something I am really into - I'm hoping there will be a high street copy on this one! I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for that..

The dress on the left is probably my favourite of the 3 though, its so simple but the detail on the neck and then the mesh layers on the skirt make it WORK. Once again, I think it looks really wearable - high street copy on this one again would be much appreciated!

Superbowl 2013

Like the rest of the world, today I am all about Beyoncé's Superbowl performance last night!

She literally set the stage on fire with her performance last night.

All the rehearsal time and hard work clearly paid off. I LOVED IT!!

I was not ready for that jelly & yes, her body was BOOTYLICIOUS.

Confession of my obsession..

Ok, seriously, my obsession with Rihanna is on ridiculous levels.
She's always just 'her' & never apologises for that, that's something you've got to admire!

Here she is arriving at a photoshoot yesterday in an LBD looking stunning (as per).

Also, I'm really into her hairstyle right now, to the point where I was actually considering shaving half my head!! Quickly got over that one though, the long locks will be staying put for me!

Talk that talk to me, yeah...

Yeah Bey! Talk Yo' Shit...

If its even possible, I think I love Beyoncé that little bit more after her Superbowl Press Conference yesterday.

After singing the national anthem live, Bey asks 'Any Questions?'

I don't think she could've proved herself any better!
